Is your car blowing hot air?

Let’s fix that.

Mobile air conditioning repair, regas and leak detection — brought to your driveway across Cockburn, Fremantle, Spearwood and Perth's southern suburbs.

Why Ready Automotive for your aircon?

Some things are worth sweating over, but your aircon isn’t one of them. Whether it's blowing warm air, making a noise it shouldn't or just not performing like it used to, I can diagnose and fix it on your Perth driveway without you having to drop your car at a workshop and reorganise your day around it.

I'm Alan. I've spent 25+ years specialising in vehicle air conditioning — first in dealerships, now mobile. I carry the same diagnostic equipment, the same quality parts, and the same expertise, and I bring all of it directly to you. I hold a current ARC licence, which means I'm legally authorised to handle refrigerants, and as a licensed auto electrician I can sort any electrical faults behind your aircon fault too.

Air-con specialist

As a licenced auto-electrician, mechanic and air-con technician, I’m an all-rounder when it comes to confidently fixing your vehicle, but I do have a few specific expertise in the air conditioning and regas area:

  • Your system loses refrigerant naturally over time - usually around 10-15% per year. A regas restores it to the correct level so your system runs efficiently and keeps you genuinely cool. I use the right refrigerant for your vehicle and always check system pressure before and after.

  • If your system keeps losing gas, there's a leak somewhere. I use Nitrogen Gas, UV dye and electronic detection to find exactly where it's coming from so we fix the actual problem, not just top it up and hope for the best.

  • Not every aircon problem is a gas issue. Compressor faults, blocked condensers, electrical failures - I diagnose the root cause using dealer-level tools before recommending any repair. No guesswork, no unnecessary parts.

  • Compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, belts and more. If it's part of your air conditioning system, I can fix or replace it on-site or advise you honestly if it's a workshop job.

signs your aircon needs attention

signs your aircon needs attention *

  • The air coming out isn't as cold as it used to be

  • It's blowing room temperature air even on the coldest setting

  • There's a musty or unusual smell when you turn it on

  • You can hear a clicking or rattling noise when the A/C kicks in

  • The system works sometimes but cuts out unexpectedly

  • Your windscreen demister isn't performing properly in winter

Any of these sound familiar? It’s worth getting looked at before the Perth summer arrives!

Frequently asked questions

…the aircon edition! If you have any further questions, please reach out.

  • A standard regas depends on your vehicle and the refrigerant type required, starting from $249. If diagnostics reveal a fault that needs repairing, I'll give you a clear quote before any work starts - no surprises.

  • A straightforward regas typically takes 50-70 minutes. I can do it while you're at home or at work - you don't need to be anywhere near the car.

  • Most manufacturers recommend every 1–2 years. Perth's climate is harder on aircon systems than most - the heat accelerates refrigerant loss and puts extra stress on components, so erring on the side of annual checks makes sense here.

  • In most cases, yes. I carry the equipment and most common parts to complete the job in one visit. If a part needs ordering I'll let you know upfront.

  • No, topping up a leaking system is actually illegal so it must get fixed. I check for leaks first, and if there's one, we address it properly.

  • We had two separate quotes from other mechanics [and] Alan’s expertise saved us thousands of dollars, but just as importantly, he was incredibly professional, honest, and efficient throughout the entire process. It’s rare to find someone in this industry you can genuinely trust, and Alan absolutely ticked every box for us.

  • Great job, both thorough and efficient. Lovely bloke, very professional. Great value for money. I never had a car service at home before by a mobile mechanic but that was brilliant! So much easier than the usual faff of dropping the car at a garage. Definitely recommend Alan and this great service.
